Donate Unwanted Items

At Holbrook Animal Rescue, our animals need many different supplies to stay happy, healthy, and comfortable. We happily accept donations of new and pre-loved items.

Some items aren’t suitable for us to use, so to avoid disappointment, please check the lists below before arranging to drop off or send in your donation. Thank you for helping us care for animals in need.

Please note we can only accept used items in good condition that do not require repair and have all the pieces. This to ensure the safety of our animals while using them and to prevent the need for us to dispose of things, sometimes at a cost. Where possible, please wipe down or wash any items you are looking to donate beforehand so they are ready for use straight away.

We can not send our volunteers to collect items from private addresses.

We Always Need:

Blankets & large towels
Flat Sheets
Duvet Covers
Wet and Dry Food
Enrichment Toys
Tennis Balls
Dog Coats (Any Size)
Slip Leads
Extender Leads
Collars & Harnesses

We Can not Use:

Newspapers
Pillows or Cushions
Travel Crates (That airlines use)
Feather Duvets
Dirty or soiled items

Large Donations

For any large in-kind donations (e.g. several boxes or pallets), please contact fundraising@holbrookanimalrescue.com prior to arranging to drop-off to ensure we have enough storage space. Thank you for your consideration.

Resell Donations

From time to time, some donated items may be resold rather than used directly for the animals in our care. We understand that this may not be what every donor would like, and we want to be transparent about why this happens.

As much as we would love to use every item ourselves, we are limited by storage space and the specific, changing needs of our animals. Reselling certain donations allows us to make the best possible use of your generosity; turning items we cannot store or use into essential funds. These funds go directly toward day-to-day operational costs, including veterinary care, shelter maintenance, and enrichment for the animals.

We are incredibly grateful for every donation and the intention behind it. Your support, whether through items or funds, makes a real and meaningful difference.
