Leave a Gift in Your Will

Every year, animals arrive at Holbrook who need urgent help—whether they’ve been abandoned, neglected, or their owners can no longer care for them.

A gift in your Will could:

  • Provide food, warmth, and shelter to animals arriving in need.

  • Fund veterinary treatment and rehabilitation for those with complex medical conditions.

  • Help us find loving, permanent homes where dogs and cats can thrive.

  • Support education and outreach to enhance animal welfare beyond our rescue centre.

Your kindness will live on, offering second chances for years to come.

How to Leave a Gift in Your Will

Leaving a legacy is simple. You can choose to give:

  • A share of your estate (residuary gift) — a percentage of what’s left after loved ones are provided for.

  • A fixed sum of money (pecuniary gift).

We recommend speaking to a solicitor to ensure your wishes are carried out.

Suggested wording for your Will

“I give [insert amount/percentage/item] to Holbrook Animal Rescue, Old Holbrook, Horsham, RH12 4TW (Registered Charity Number 1181456), for its general charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Executors.”

Updating Your Will

If you have already made a Will and would like to add Holbrook Animal Rescue as a beneficiary, a simple codicil (amendment) can be added – we have a form you can use (click here).

If you need a solicitor to help with this, you can find one through lawsociety.org.uk.
