Fundraising Your Way – FAQs
Thank you so much for thinking about fundraising for Holbrook Animal Rescue. Every fundraiser, big or small, helps us give dogs and cats the care, safety and second chances they deserve. Below you’ll find answers to some common questions to help you get started.
How can I fundraise for Holbrook Animal Rescue?
You can fundraise in whatever way suits you best! From runs, walks and fitness challenges to bake sales, community events or creative ideas at home; if you can imagine it, you can fundraise it. Take a look at our ideas for inspiration and let us know what you’re planning so we can cheer you on.

How will the money I raise help?
Every pound you raise goes directly towards caring for our dogs and cats. Your support helps cover essentials like food, vet treatment, rehabilitation and safe shelter while animals wait for their forever homes.

How do I get started with planning my fundraiser?
Start by choosing something you enjoy, pick a date and think about who you’d like to involve. Whether it’s a solo challenge or a group event, make sure its something you enjoy!

What am I responsible for as an organiser?
If you’re organising an event, you’ll need to make sure it’s safe and follows any local rules. This might include things like permission from a venue, food safety guidance, licences for raffles, or insurance.

Can I use your logo?
Yes, but we ask that you use the expression "in aid of” to describe how you are raising funds – this distinguishes your fundraising activities from our own and signifies that all aspects of the events are organised by you.

Can you help organise or attend my event?
While we’re unable to run or attend individual fundraising events, our fundraising team are happy to provide advice; email fundraising@holbrookanimalrescue.com. We also ask that your activity is described as being “in aid of Holbrook Animal Rescue”.

How can I fundraise online?
Online fundraising pages (such as JustGiving) are a simple way to collect donations and share your story with friends and family. They make it easy for supporters to donate directly and securely.

Do I need to raise a certain amount?
Not at all. There’s no minimum target - every donation makes a difference. Some people like to set a goal to stay motivated, but it’s completely up to you.

Can I do a public collection?
Yes, but you’ll need permission from the venue or local authority first. Once that’s in place, we can provide collection tins and a letter confirming your fundraising is in aid of Holbrook Animal Rescue.

Can children take part in fundraising?
We love seeing young people get involved! Children are welcome to fundraise with adult supervision. Anyone under 16 should not be responsible for handling or counting money.

How can I spread the word about my fundraiser?
Sharing your fundraiser with friends, family and your local community is a great way to boost support. Social media, posters and word of mouth all help. Please make it clear that your activity is “in aid of Holbrook Animal Rescue”.
If you are planning to use any of the funds you raise to cover the costs of your event, please make sure that any promotional materials you produce reflect this, for example: “X% of ticket sales” or “X% for every £1 raised”.

Will you share my fundraiser on social media?
The priority for our social channels is promoting the dogs and cats in our care looking for their next forever home, which means we have limited space for other activity. This means, we are unable to guarantee the promotion of fundraising events in aid of Holbrook on our social media channels.
We do suggest you tag us in any social posts @holbrookanimalrescue, for our Social Media team to see and reshare if they have the capacity to do so!

Can I sell items to raise money for you?
Yes — selling products or services is a great way to fundraise.

How do I pay in the money I’ve raised?
You can donate your fundraising online via our website or fundraising platforms like JustGiving

Can I bring the money to you in person?
You’re very welcome to drop off your donation, but please be aware that as a kennel free rescue, you will not be able to visit the animals on site.

Do you have a fundraising pack?
As a small charity, we don’t currently have the resources to produce printed fundraising packs. However, we’re always happy to offer advice, ideas and support by email, and we can share digital resources to help you make your fundraising a success.
Still have questions? Please email fundraising@holbrookanimalrescue.com (Please note that we are entirely run by volunteers, so please allow us a few days for response)
