Leo

Leo - Age 9
Shih Tzu
Dogs - Can be homed with a companion dog or as an only dog
Cats - Can be homed with a cat
Children - 10+

Dogs - Leo gets on well with other dogs but will bark at bigger dogs if they bark at him first, he loves to play when he sees other dogs out and about therefore we feel that Leo can be homed with a companion dog but he also loves, loves loves people and having his own person would be further up his list of priorities than having a dog friend so Leo would also be equally as happy as an only dog providing he had the opportunity to meet up with other dogs regularly.
* See additional information *

Cats - Leo has lived happily with a cat therefore can be homed with a cat.

Children- Leo has a happy, playful nature around children and can be homed with dog respectful children age 10+

Personality- Leo is very affectionate and playful, he loves nothing more than attention from his people and to snuggle up. He is a very loyal little dog that will bond quickly with his new family. He is described as being a very happy little dog.
* See additional information *

Suitable home - Leo will need someone home most of the time to give him the attention he loves. His new family will need to enjoy the outdoors as Leo loves to go on walks and will enjoy exploring new places. Although Leo can be left he would rather be out and about with his people whenever possible so his new family will need to include Leo in as much of their lives as possible. Leo will be looking for a home where he has free run of the house, can curl up on the sofa and sleep in the same room as his new owners. Leo would also like a nice size garden to explore.

*Additional information *
Sadly Leo’s owner passed away very recently and he has been cared for by family but due to a change in their own circumstances they can no longer give him the time he needs or deserves. Leo is a very much loved family member and this was a difficult family decision.
Leo is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

Bruno

Bruno – Experienced home needed

Bruno – Age 5
Dogs – To be homed with a female companion dog
Cats – No
Children – Older respectful children

Dogs – At present, Bruno happily lives with a female companion dog. Bruno loves to play with dogs when he is off lead, especially small energetic ones however he is often unsure around larger male dogs therefore we would like Bruno homed with a confident yet playful female dog.

Cats – Bruno has high prey-drive therefore he will not be homed with cats or small furries.

Children – Bruno has been introduced to children aged 10+ and always interacts well with them, however he has not lived with children. We will consider applicants with older, dog respectful children and each app will be viewed individually.

Personality – Bruno loves the outdoors, he thoroughly enjoys long walks and is very sociable when meeting new people out and about. Bruno loves to play with other dogs but can become a little over excited, especially with bigger dogs and will need teaching that he doesn’t get to meet and play with all other dogs that he sees when out walking. Once Bruno is home he likes to participate in lots of mental stimulation to help him relax. Bruno walks well on lead but he will lunge at certain dogs therefore this will need continued training. Bruno is a smart dog that enjoys learning; he knows all his basic commands. Sadly Bruno suffers with separation anxiety when left, the company of the other dog helps somewhat but this will need to be addressed further in his new home.

Suitable home – Bruno will need someone home much of the time to help him settle and to slowly address his separation anxiety. Bruno is not a dog that would cope well with a couple of short walks a day and will need a family that love the outdoors and exploring as much as he does. Bruno’s new family will need experience with rescue dogs and will also need to be understanding of his separation anxiety with the knowledge and commitment to further his training in lead walking and confidence building.

Additional Information – Bruno has been in his current home for just over two years but sadly due to a change in circumstances his family are no longer in a position to meet all of Bruno’s needs therefore the very hard decision to rehome was made. Bruno is vaccinated, microchipped and castrated. If you wish to apply to adopt Bruno please use the application form to clearly detail your experience with rescue dogs and behaviours that you have successfully worked through. If you feel you can give Bruno the home he is looking for please complete the application form below

Autumn

Autumn – Age 20 months (05/19)
Dogs – To be homed with a young, playful companion dog
Cats – Unknown
Children – Older dog respectful children

Dogs – Autumn loves to play wrestle with some of the other dogs at Holbrook and gains confidence from being around them therefore we will be looking for a home with a playful young companion dog.

Cats – We do not know Autumn’s history with cats

Children – Autumn has a beautiful nature about her but we do not know her history with children, we will consider older, dog respectful children and each app will be viewed individually.

Personality – Autumn is a lover, not a fighter! She can still be a little nervous when meeting new people but has learnt to trust quickly. Fast hand movements still worry her, she will shy away but quickly returns when she realises all is ok.

Autumn loves to play wrestle with some of the other dos and although she can often be found in the mix of things she’s equally happy to snuggle up on the sofa for a nap.

Autumn is a smart girl that focuses well on 1-2-1 training which will need continuing in her new home.

Suitable home – Autmn will need someone home much of the time to help her settle. She will need a family that understands she can still be unsure of certain situations and that she will need a slow introduction to the big world.

For a little dog Autumn can jump quite high, with little effort! She will happily jump the 4ft fence to get into the sensory garden to see what’s going on and although she has never tried to escape she will need a home with a fully secure garden/6ft fencing all round.

Additional Information
Since Autumn arrived at Holbrook we have been working on her confidence around the lead. She now walks up and down the lane, initially she was scared of cars passing but this has improved no end. Her new family will need to understand that her introductions to the world when on lead will need to be done slowly, at a pace she is comfortable with. Autumn is more confident when walking with another dog.

If you feel you can give Autumn the home she is looking for please complete the application form below.

Molly – Age approx. 10 years
Dogs – To be homed with a calm male companion dog
Cats – Unknown
Children – No children

Dogs – Molly has settled well with the majority of dogs at Holbrook but gets on better with the boys therefore we would like Molly homed with a calm, male companion dog.

Cats – We do not know how Molly will be around cats

Children – Molly loves attention from humans but she is not a needy dog, we do not know here history with children but feel that she would not cope well with their energy therefore we will be looking for a child free home for Molly

Personality – Molly is a quiet dog that likes to know what is going on but doesn’t feel the need to be in the centre of any activities. She can be unsure in certain situations and will need experienced guidance to help build her confidence. Molly is a plodder, not a runner and likes to take things at her own pace.

Suitable home – Molly will need someone home much of the time to help her settle. We will be looking for a home with rescue dog experience and a family that will acknowledge that Molly will need time, patience and understanding to help her feel like she belongs. Molly took time to settle at Holbrook and we feel she will be the same with her new family therefore her new home must have a good sized garden that is fully secure with a 6ft fence all round, initially Molly will need to be kept on a long line when in the garden and accompanied at all times until she is fully settled. Molly would suit a quiet home with not too many comings and goings (when things return to normal) she would not like a busy house with people in and out all the time.

Additional Information
Molly has now joined the group walk however she is still worried on lead, we will continue to work on this while Molly is at Holbrook but this will also need to be continued in her new home.

If you feel you can give Molly the home she is looking for please complete the application form below.

Beanie

Urgent Foster with view to Adopt: Beanie is a 16 month old Weimaraner with an excellent pedigree. He will need to be neutered as soon as possible. He needs to be rehomed due to a change in the owners' personal circumstances. He is a lovely boy, typically strong and playful and loves nothing more than finding a good stick to wrestle. He has lived with young children but due to his strength and boisterousness, we recommend dog savvy, older children. Cats; he is not aggressive and just wants to play with them. Although he has not lived with a companion dog, he would benefit from a robust and playful companion for company. He is good with other dogs and people that he meets out on his walks and his recall is good once he has bonded. However as with all young dogs he will benefit from more practice! We are looking for a home for him with a family who have an active lifestyle and who are home for the majority of the time. They will need time and energy to stimulate and enrich his young mind.
