Personality - Hera is a lovely dog full of life and fun and she has quickly become a favourite amongst our volunteers at Holbrook as she is so loving towards people. She does sometimes find the mix of dogs at Holbrook overwhelming but she loves coming on the walk and is making the most of her new found freedom. Hera is also a clever young dog who would thrive on any form of training and be a loyal companion in the right home.

Suitable Home:
- A rural home with plenty of outdoor space for her to charge around in
- An Owner who has experience is essential
- Her new Owner will need to be at home the majority of time
- She would like to be homed with a bigger male dog
- She will require lots of regular walks
- Ongoing training will be required with her on/off lead walking
- Hera cannot be homed with cats as she will chase them
- Children need to be over the age of 12 years old

Tom - Based in Horsham, West Sussex

Cats - Not yet cat tested
Children - Need to be over the age of 12

Personality - Tom arrived at Holbrook with his siblings Wanda and Hank, and he is the more nervous of the trio. Tom seeks comfort in the company of the other dogs but he is quite wary of people initially. Once bonded however Tom has been quite willing in letting some of our volunteers stroke him and even put a lead on him in preparation for practicing lead walking. He enjoys playing with his brother Hank and Tarn.

Suitable Home:
- An Owner experienced with nervous dogs
- Someone who has the time & patience to teach this pup plenty about the world
- A confident companion dog of a similar age
- A quiet environment with a secure garden
- Plenty of walks as he grows & gentle introduction to new environments
- Tom has not been tested around cats
- Children need to be over the age of 12 years old

Tom likes - the company of the other dogs, playing with Hank and Tarn, gentle strokes from volunteers he has bonded with

Tarn - Based in Horsham, West Sussex

Personality - Tarn is a very loyal, intelligent and affectionate puppy who we cannot believe is still with us! He has the most gorgeous nature, manners to die for around food and is proving to be quite the role model for some of our younger more nervous dogs. Tarn has an abundance of energy and loves to play with his ball or other dogs, but he also is capable of knowing when to switch off.

Suitable Home:
- A rural home with his own garden to enjoy
- Tarn is good around our horses so this type of home would suit him well
- A playful companion dog of a similar age
- An Owner who understands the importance of exercise & stimulation with this breed
- Lots of off lead adventures
- His new Owner will need to be at home the majority of the day
- His intelligent mind would thrive on any type of training
- Requires ongoing lead training
- Tarn has not been tested around cats yet
- Children need to be over the age of 12 years old

Tarn likes - balls (he can fit 3 in his mouth at once!), playing fetch, running off lead where he is very good at listening to commands, being amongst the other dogs, playing with the other dogs, teaching the puppies to be braver, going in the car.

Athena - Based in Horsham, West Sussex

Personality - Athena didn't have the best start to her life but she has come such a long way since her arrival at Holbrook. She has proven just how well she can bond with people after a little time and we see daily her fun, loyal and loving personality shine through. Athena is such a gentle soul that you can easily fall in love with but the thing that makes us smile the most is watching her have the ability to really run without a care in the world!

Suitable Home:
- A rural/farm type home with plenty of outdoor space that is also secure
- Athena is good around horses so this type of home would really suit her
- An Owner who has experience of nervous dogs
- A confident companion dog of a similar age in the home
- Her new Owner will need to be patient & understanding that Athena is still learning about the outside world
- Plenty of walks off lead for Athena which will need to be somewhere secure initially
- Her new Owner will need to be at home the majority of time
- Athena has previously lived with cats
- Children need to be over the age of 12 years old

Athena likes - affection in abundance once she gets to know you, running free amongst our field, being around the dogs at Holbrook (she never has a disagreement with any of them!), getting reassurance if it's a situation she is unsure of.

Charlie - Based in Horsham, West Sussex

Personality - Charlie is a very sweet dog who didn't have the best start in life and as a result it takes him a little while to trust people. That being said he has proven just how well a relationship with Charlie can blossom and with those he trusts we see a very playful, fun and loyal side of him! Charlie loves coming on the daily group walk where he is off lead, doesn't stray too far and is enjoying this new lease of life. He really has grown in confidence thanks to the kennel free environment he lives in which enables him to watch and learn from the other dogs.

Suitable Home:
- An Owner experienced with nervous dogs is required
- Someone who has the time to gradually teach Charlie about the outside world
- A quiet home with a large and secure garden
- A confident companion dog
- Plenty of off lead adventures once he trusts you and his recall with you has been perfected
- He has good manners on the lead too
- Charlie is good around our horses
- Charlie has not been tested around cats
- Children need to be over the age of 12

Charlie likes - belly rubs once he gets to know you, playing with toys, following his person like the loyal boy he is on his walks.

Vixen
Female
Age - 2 years old
Mixed Breed
Dogs - Only dog in the home
Cats - Has lived with cats, but will chase them outdoors
Children - Need to be over the age of 12

Personality - Vixen is totally gentle and loving in the home but a little excitable and nervous on her walks.
She is very loyal to people and her recall is good. She has no guarding issues and no separation anxiety. She can be a little wary about meeting new dogs but with the correct training and encouragement she soon grows in confidence.

Suitable Home:
- An experienced Owner who has time to give her ongoing training such as teaching her about the outside world including new experiences and interaction with dogs
- Plenty of fun walks and adventures
- Only dog in the home
- Owners that can be around the majority of the day to give her company, training and exercise
- Mental stimulation is something that she thrives on
- Access to a good sized and secure own garden
- Cats she has lived with but she will chase them outside of the home
- Children over the age of 12

She will need to be neutered at the appropriate time.

Personality – Freddie has a wonderful personality. He is friendly and loves to get one to one attention. He gets on well with all the dogs at Holbrook and sometimes enjoys to play with them. He also likes to do his own thing and goes off to say hello to the goats, sheep and Blossom, our Shetland pony. He loves enjoys sunbathing, relaxing and exploring new things.

Suitable home – Freddie needs a home with lots of experience with rescue dogs and with someone who can set boundaries and give him plenty of confidence and love. It must be a cat free and child free home. He loves his walks so his new owners must be fit and enjoy long walks. He will need at least an hour twice a day. He would like a home where someone is at home most of the day. Freddie can be homed as an only dog as long as he has the chance to socialise with other dogs. He can also be homed with a middle aged dog.

Additional Information – Freddie can get protective over people that he gets very attached to. Freddie walks beautifully on the lead and is good off the lead. He will make a very loyal companion. If you feel you can give the home he is looking for please complete the application form below.
