Bobby

Bobby

Bobby – Age approximately 5-6
Dogs – To be homed with a gentle companion dog male or female
Cats – Not cat tested
Children – Older, dog respectful children

Dogs – Bobby gets on well with all the dogs at Holbrook, he never goes looking for trouble but loves to be amongst them all. Bobby can still be a little nervous in certain situations therefore we would like Bobby homed with a confident, calm companion dog.

Cats – Bobby has not been cat tested therefore we do not know how he will react to living with a cat

Children – Bobby has a beautiful gentle nature but we do not know his history around children therefore we recommend older, dog respectful children. Each application will be considered individually.

Personality – Gentle and affectionate are the best words to describe Bobby. He loves interaction with anyone and everyone, liking nothing more than leaning in close while you stroke him. Bobby is a lover and not a fighter, he never goes looking for trouble with the other dogs at Holbrook and is happy to just be included in whatever is going on. Although Bobby has settled well at Holbrook he can still be a little nervous in certain situations but his confidence continues to grow daily.

Suitable home – Bobby will need someone home much of the time to help him settle, he would like a nice sized garden to mooch around in and explore. Bobby loves to be with people therefore we will be looking for a home that will include Bobby in their day-to-day activities. Bobby would suit a quieter family that can continue to build his self confidence to help Bobby become the very best that he can.

Additional Information
Bobby walks well on lead but will need some continued training. He has not been taught recall so the use of a secure dog walking field and/or a long line will be perfect until recall is taught. We feel he will learn to recall quickly as he will bond easily with his new owners.

If you feel you can give Bobby the home he is looking for please complete the application form below.

Oscar

Oscar

Oscar – Age approx. 2-3 yrs old
Dogs – To be homed as an only dog.
Cats – Not cat tested
Children – Older, dog respectful children

Dogs – Oscar loves to run and play with the other dogs at Holbrook but he can be a little pushy with some of them therefore we feel he would be best suited as an only dog

Cats – Oscar has not been cat tested therefore we do not know how he will be living with a cat

Children – Oscar is bouncy and still has a lot to learn therefore we he would be best suited in a home with older, dog respectful children. Each application will be viewed individually.

Personality – Oscar is a fun dog; he has a lot of energy and loves to keep busy. Oscar loves to interact with the volunteers at Holbrook and is keen to be in the mix of anything going on. Oscar likes to know that he is getting things right and he listens well, he will do well in a home that can continue his training. Oscar has a beautiful coat, and he loves nothing more than to be gently groomed. If you are looking for a loyal, fun, smart dog then Oscar could be just the dog you have been waiting for.

Suitable home – As with all rescue dogs, Oscar will need someone home much of the time to help him settle. Oscar is an energetic dog and would not suit a couple of short lead walks a day. Until Oscar learns recall he will need to be able to run off some energy in a secure dog walking field and/or have the use of a long-line. Oscar will be looking for a home with a good sized, fully secure garden to explore in with a family that are willing to continue Oscars training and set clear boundaries in place.

Additional Information – Oscar walks well on lead but there is room for improvement. Unfazed by traffic and people he enjoys a good sniff when out exploring and checks in regularly with his handler.

Flo

Flo

Flo – Age approx. 3
Dogs – To be homed with a calm companion dog
Cats – Not cat tested
Children – Older dog respectful children

Dogs – Flo gets on with all the other dogs at Holbrook, she never goes looking for trouble and is submissive if confronted. Flo loves to be in the mix of things with the other dogs and gains confidence in being around them. Therefore we would like Flo homed with a calm yet playful companion dog

Cats – We do not know Flo’s history with cats however she has shown an interest in chasing birds and we feel she may have fun chasing cats or small furries

Children – Flo has a beautiful nature, but we do not know her history around children therefore we feel a home with older dog respectful children would be ideal. Each app will be viewed individually.

Personality – Flo is gentle and affectionate, when she first arrived at Holbrook she would drop to the ground if someone bent down to stroke her but as her confidence has grown, she is now learning that the human touch can be kind. Whoever is working with Flo is the person she looks to for guidance, she puts her trust in that person and will follow their lead. Although we wouldn’t label Flo as a foodie she does love treats which will help no end with her training. Flo likes to gently be groomed and will lean into you closely while you brush her. We have already begun to see her playful side as she joins in with the other dogs chasing and play wrestling. Flo will bond quickly and easily with her new family and will be a very loyal, loving companion.

Suitable home – Flo will need someone there much of the time to help her settle, she would love a good sized garden to explore with a calm yet playful companion dog to learn from. Flo loves to listen to whoever is interacting with her and she will do well with continued training. Flo can still be a little unsure of certain situations but with guidance she soon overcomes that worry and will enjoy slowly being introduced to lots of new experiences.

Additional Information
Flo has now joined the group walk; it didn’t take her long to get used to the lead and she continuously checks in with the person walking her. Flo was not fazed by the passing traffic but did like to stop and look at things she had probably not seen before, like the tractor in the field. Flo did not react to strangers on the walk and happily walked past them, following the other dogs. Its easy to see that Flo wants to run, until she has recall the use of a long-line or dog secure walking field will be perfect.

If you feel you can give Flo the home she is looking for please complete the application form below.

Cats – Not cat tested
Children – Older, dog respectful children

Dogs – Millie gets on fabulously with all the dogs at Holbrook, she loves to run and play with them however she is just as happy in the company of the volunteers and just love attention from people. We feel that Millie could live happily as an only dog providing she has the opportunity to socialize with other dogs on a regular basis, she can also be homed with a companion dog or more.

Cats – Millie has not been cat tested therefore we do not know how she will respond to living with one.

Children – Millie has a beautiful gentle nature however we do not know her history around children therefore we feel Millie could be homed with older, dog respectful children and each application will be viewed individually.

Personality – Millie is a lover and not a fighter, she adores human companionship and loves to interact with people and dogs alike. She has been described as a good all-round, happy dog that loves life! Millie is a confident little dog but not overconfident, she listens well and loves to be involved with whatever is going on. She takes everything in her strides and enjoys new experiences. Millie likes to be groomed, she loves tasty treats and once she knows you have some, she will follow you everywhere.

Mini and Mojo

Mini and Mojo

Mojo and Mini
Age approx. 8
Dogs – To be homed together.
Cats – No cats
Children – Older dog respectful children 14+

Dogs – Mojo and Mini get on well with the other dogs at Holbrook however they are very much a bonded pair and will only be homed together.

Cats – No cats, Mojo and Mini will chase them.

Children
Mojo and Mini have been around older children but we do feel that they would like a quiet home with not too many comings and goings therefore we will consider homes with older dog respectful children age 14+

Personality
Mojo and Mini are fun little dogs that love their walks and like to chase squirrels. Both dogs are very affectionate and although they can be left for short periods, they would be much better in a home with someone around most of the time. Mini is quite sensitive to changes and can take some time to settle. Both dogs need nurturing and understanding when they move to their new homes. Due to their love of squirrel chasing both girls are not off lead on walks however they love to explore so we will be looking for a home that can offer the girls regular use of a secure dog walking field and will allow them off lead exploring by using long-lines on regular walks in parks and woodland.

Suitable home
Mojo and Mini would very much suit a semi-retired or fully retired couple that have lots of love and time to give to them. The girls were a very sad rehome due to a marriage breakdown which may have contributed to Mini’s sensitivity to changes. Her new family must be willing to give them the time and support that they may need when rehomed, they are both very affectionate, fun little dogs that will repay your love tenfold.

Additional Information
Both Mojo and Mini will need to be vaccinated, this will be done in the next couple of weeks.
Both Mojo and Mini are neutered.

If you feel you can give Mojo and Mini the home they are looking for please complete the application form below.

Bertie

Bertie

Bertie – Cockapoo
Age 22 months
Neutered and vaccinated
Dogs – To be homed with a companion dog
Cats – No cats
Children – No children

Dogs – Bertie constantly wants to play and interact with other dogs when out on walks. Due to Bertie’s anxiety (please read additional information) we feel he would benefit from being homed with a confident, playful companion dog to learn from.

Cats – Bertie has high prey drive and will chase cats and small furries.

Children:
Bertie will not be homed with children, the energy and excitement that surrounds children is too much for Bertie to cope with and causes him to become anxious. (see additional information)

Personality:
Bertie is a highly energetic, loving, intelligent and obedient dog. He is not an aggressive dog and although he suffers with anxiety he has never gone out of his way to cause harm however he will defended himself at times where he feels vulnerable, if his warnings are ignored or his request for space is disregarded.

Bertie’s owners have invested a lot of time training and settling Bertie since they had him and he very much part of the family but due to a change in the family dynamics the home is now too busy for Bertie to cope with.

Bertie loves attention however he needs his space, he is not a dog that will cope well with attention from strangers unless he is comfortable with them and the attention is invited. When Bertie becomes anxious he will guard his toys and food, this has been successfully managed in his current home by understanding Bertie’s anxiety and managing situations to allow him to feel at ease.

Bertie doesn’t cope well with changes; he becomes quite anxious and will take time to settle however he does respond well to training. Consistency, routine and management are key to Bertie feeling secure within his environment and once these are in place Bertie is a happy, content little dog.

Suitable home:
Bertie needs an experienced home. Sadly, he has already had two homes in his short life and due to the change of circumstances in his current home it is now necessary for him to be rehomed again. We will be looking for a home with experience in dogs that suffer anxieties, needing space and confidence building. Bertie would benefit from living with a confident companion dog to learn from.

Bertie needs a quiet home with not too many people in and out, his new family really must understand that he becomes quite anxious in certain situations within the home and will need to work on this and respect this side of Bertie, while committing to help Bertie gain self-confidence.

Additional Information:
At only two years old Bertie is looking for his forever-home. Bertie is a very much loved part of his family but due to a change in circumstances the very hard to decision to rehome Bertie was made, this decision was made with Bertie’s best interests at heart.

If you feel you can give Bertie the home he is looking for please complete the application form below.

Rumi

Rumi

Rumi – Age 11 months
Castrated and vaccinated
Breed – Cocker Spaniel
Dogs – To be homed with a companion dog
Cats – No cats
Children – Can be homed with older, dog respectful children

Dogs
Rumi has been socialized regularly with other dogs and get on well with them and is very playful. We will be looking for a home with a young, playful companion dog, male, female or multi dog home.

Cats
Rumi likes cats but he wants to play with them and will chase and bounce so we feel a cat free home would suit Rumi better.

Children
Rumi has always lived with children from very young to 6 years old however he is bouncy and will accidently knock children over with his excitement, we feel that a home with older children would suit Rumi better due to his bounciness.

Personality
Rumi love everyone he meets, humans and dog, he is very playful and quite mischievous just as you would expect from a young dog. Rumi loves to learn and knows his basic obedience. He is great around children and adults alike. He is a high energy dog that will need continued training and a good, varied exercise routine. Rumi doesn’t like to be left; he can be left for short periods but this will need to be build up slowly. Not only is Rumi physically energetic he is also a thinker and loves/needs mental stimulation. Rumi is described as the most outgoing, happy dog ever. He has no reservations about anything, he jumps in head-first. Rumi is loved by everyone that meets him, he loves cuddles and to be with his owner.

Suitable home
Rumi needs someone home much of the time, a family that can commit to his continued training and provide him with the mental stimulation he needs. Rumi loves his walks and enjoys exploring new places, he will suit a family that enjoys the out-doors as much as he does. Rumi is an energetic dog, you wouldn’t expect anything less from a Cocker Spaniel, he will not suit a home that can only offer a couple of short lead walks a day. Rumi will be looking for a home with a good sized garden to explore in and a young, playful companion dog to learn form.

Additional Information
Rumi is a very much-loved part of his family but sadly they can no dedicate the time needed to his training therefore the very difficult decision was made that Rumi would be rehomed to ensure the very best future for him.

Cats – Not cat tested
Children – Can be homed with older, dog respectful children

Dogs – Honey gets on with the majority of the dogs at Holbrook, she loves to run and to play with them but she favours the company of the males, therefore we feel that Honey can be homed with a confident, yet playful male companion dog or she can be homed as an only dog providing she has the opportunity to socialise with other dogs on a regular basis.

Cats – Honey has not been cat tested.

Children – Honey has a lovely gentle manner when interacting with people; but we do not know her history around children. We will consider homes with be older, dog respectful children and each application will be viewed individually.

Personality – Honey absolutely loves the company of people; she is extremely affectionate and loves some one-on-one time. Honey likes to be groomed and finds it quite relaxing, more human interaction for her to enjoy! Honey can be a little wary around feeding time and if homed with a companion dog it is advised that they are fed separately to allow Honey to eat her food in a worry-free environment. Honey has already joined the group walk. She walks ok on lead, but this will need further training in her new home. She shows no reaction to passing traffic or people and enjoys exploring when out. Although Honey has not been for a ride in a car she has happily jumped in and out a number of times so we don’t feel that short travel will be an issue for Honey, she has shown no signs of worry when being in the car.

Suitable home – As with all rescue dogs Honey will need someone home most of the time to help her settle. She walks quite well on lead however this will need continued training along with basic obedience therefore we will be looking for a home, with rescue experience that can commit to Honeys continued training. Honey is quite an energetic dog and would not suit a couple of short walks a day, she would suit a family that enjoys the outdoors and who will introduce her to lots of new experiences.

Additional Information

Prince

Prince

Prince – Age approximately 2
Dogs – To be homed with a companion dog.
Cats – Not tested
Children – Older, dog respectful children 12+

Dogs – Prince gets on well with all the dogs at Holbrook, he loves to follow their lead and thoroughly enjoys wrestling and playing with them. Due to Prince’s eye-sight [see additional information] we would like him to be homed with a playful companion dog, male or female.

Cats – Prince has not been cat tested therefore we do not know how he will be around cats.

Children – Prince has a beautiful nature about him however due to his poor eyesight we feel that a busy house with young children maybe a little too much for him to navigate easily, therefore we recommend older, dog respectful children of 12 +. All applications will be looked at individually.

Personality – Affectionate, fun, energetic, playful are just a few of the words we would use to describe Prince. He loves people as much as people love him! Prince likes to be in the mix of things and happily initiates play with many of the dog, he enjoys gently wrestling with the dogs but knows when they’ve
had enough. Prince walks ok on lead but will need more training in this area, he is food motivated however due to his eyesight he often takes time to find the treat in your hand. Prince has captured the hearts of just about everyone that has met him so far, he really is a beautiful dog both inside and out and will make a fabulous new family member.

Suitable home – As will all rescue dogs Prince will need someone home most of the time to help him settle. His new family will need to commit to his further training and slow introduction to the big world, which we are sure Prince will love. We will be looking for a home with rescue experience, please use the application form to tell us about past experiences. Prince loves to run and explore, he will not suit a couple of short lead walks a day therefore we will be looking for a home that enjoys the outdoors, visiting different places.

Additional Information
We have noticed something with Prince’s eyesight, he can see but we believe that he can not see as well as he should. This does not affect Prince’s day to day life, he still runs, plays and enjoys life to the full. Prince has an appointment booked with the vet next week, all suitable applicants will be kept updated.

If you feel you can give Prince the home he is looking for please complete the application form below.

Patrick

Patrick

Please read Patrick's re-homing requirements carefully before applying.

If you have already submitted an application form please do not resend, all applications will be looked at. Unfortunately we are unable to reply to each and every app. Successful applications will be contacted in due course.
*******************************************
Patrick – Age approx 2
Dogs – To be homed with a companion dog
Cats – Can be homed with a dog savvy cat
Children – Dog respectful children age 10+

Dogs – Patrick loves the company of other dogs and gains some confidence from being around them therefore we would like him homed with a suitable companion dog.

Cats – Patrick has been around cats, he is intrigued and sometimes wants to play.

Children – Patrick has been around children, we recommend dog respectful children of 10 years +

Personality – Information from Patrick's foster mum.
Patrick is an energetic, lively and curious young dog. He enjoys playing with other dogs is very affectionate and especially loves human company. He likes to be part of the action but is equally happy curled up on your lap. He is very confident, happy and go lucky and responds well to training (mainly due to his obsession with food ) He is persistent but not assertive in play, if another dog isn’t interested he will eventually leave them alone, especially if they show their displeasure. Ive not seen anything indoors or out that Patrick doesn’t like, although not massively keen on the vacuum cleaner. He is very excitable and will jump up if allowed, so this might be tricky with small children.

Suitable home – Patrick will need someone home much of the time to help him settle. We will be looking for a home with Pug experience and an understanding of the breed. Patrick is an energetic little fella that enjoys his walks and exploring new places, we will be looking for a home with a family that can offer Patrick new experiences.

Additional Information
Patrick happily lived in a home environment but due to a change in his family circumstances he found himself in need of a new home. Patrick came under the umbrella of Holbrook and went straight into foster. Since arriving in foster Patrick has been vaccinated and castrated.
Patrick has settled well into foster, he has enjoyed trips out with his foster mum and been a superstar meeting new people and other dogs. Patrick can be left but for only short periods, this will need continued work in his forever home. It takes Patrick a little time to settle into a new environment, he is not destructive or vocal but can become restless. Patrick walks well on lead but will need further training with his recall in his new home.

If you feel you can give Patrick the home he is looking for please complete the application form below.

Arlo

Arlo

Arlo – Age 22months
Breed – Dachshund
Dogs – To be homed with 1 or more companion dogs
Cats – Can be homed with cats
Children – Older, dog respectful children 14 +

Dogs – Arlo gets on well with other dogs and due to his separation anxiety we feel that living with one or more companion dogs will help his confidence. Arlo gets on well with both male and female dogs equally and enjoys following their lead and playing.

Cats – Arlo has met the resident cats while in foster, he has shown little interest therefore we feel he could be homed with suitable cats that are used to dogs in the home.

Children – Arlo can find children overwhelming, we will be looking for a home without children or with children age 14 +

Personality – Arlo is very affectionate, he loves to cuddle up with his human in the evenings and likes to be in the mix of things. Arlo does suffer with separation anxiety; his foster family have been addressing this slowly however this will need continued work in his new home.

We were informed that in his previous home he showed guarding behaviours, although we have not seen this behaviour while he has been in foster it is possible that once he settles into his new home they will present themselves. Arlo is an energetic little dog that only knows his very basic commands, he has some recall but this is not solid and not to be relied on, again this will need further training. Arlo will benefit from obedience training in his new home. Arlo walks well on lead but does pull. He settles a little after a few minutes, lead training will need to be continued.

Suitable home – Due to Arlo’s separation Anxiety we will be looking for a home with someone there much of the time to help him settle. We will also be looking for a Dachshund experienced home that understands the breed. Arlo is a wonderful little dog but he does need guidance and training and his new family will need to be able to commit to this.

Additional Information – Arlo has lived happily in a home environment all his life but he found the busyness of the home too much to cope with. In the right home with a breed experienced family we feel that Arlo will flourish.
Arlo is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Please use the application form to tell us why you feel you would be the best home for Arlo, detailing your experience with the breed and also any experience you have in working with dogs with separation anxiety.

If you feel you can give Arlo the home he is looking for please complete the application form below.
