Animal Care Assistant
Are you great with animals, especially dogs? Do you work hard and like to get your hands dirty?
About the role
Holbrook Animal Rescue Charity in Horsham West Sussex are looking for an experienced mature animal care assistant for around 20 hours approx per week. There will also be a requirement for full time live in to cover for holidays etc.
Applicants must have experience dealing with various types of dogs and be confident dealing with a variety of situations. You'll be feeding, grooming, walking and cleaning. Also ensuring the well-being of all dogs and other animals.
We pride ourselves on being a kennel free rescue where the dogs get to roam our facility. Due to us being a kennel free rescue, confidence around dogs is essential.
We provide constant sanctuary for multiple types of animals that may find it difficult to find home for various reasons. They all thrive with us here at the centre but may come with certain behavioural quirks that will need addressing.
The role also involves daily care of our horses, sheep, goats, chickens, cats and other small animals we provide sanctuary for. Full training in our procedures will be given.
On occasion, the owners of the rescue centre will take holiday and the Animal Care Assistant would be expected to "live in" at Holbrook for the safety of the animals. The accommodation is obviously a non-smoking environment.
