Charities across the world rely on the help and generosity of the general public to enable them to achieve their goals and support their causes. Giving Tuesday is a relatively new concept, first conceived in 2012. The idea is a simple one… A day that encourages people around the world to simply do good.
Over the past decade, this has evolved into a global movement that now inspires millions to spend some time supporting charities or their local communities. From volunteering your time, donating money, campaigning, or organising a community-based charity event, the list is endless.
At a time when funds are tight for many, we understand that giving anything might seem daunting. Still, all charities will be grateful for anything you can provide, no matter how big or small… and if you can’t donate financially, or have limited spare time to offer, then simply resharing information on social media can be a huge help.
However you choose to spend your Giving Tuesday, and no matter which charity you support, you should be proud of the help you’ve given. Be sure to tell your friends and encourage them to participate too.
Help us to #RebuildOurRescue - Holbrook Animal Rescue
You may already know a little about us, but for those unfamiliar with Holbrook Animal Rescue and our story, we are one of only two kennel-free animal rescue centres in the UK. Due to a large housing development, we are being forced to relocate from our home of nearly 30 years, and we need your help to rebuild our rescue centre!
We are currently considering a few new locations in the local area, and are working on plans for a new building that allows our animals to have a safe and happy environment whilst keeping our ethos of being kennel-free.
What will our new rescue centre be like?
We will be providing new areas for the animals such as a dedicated veterinary room for home visits and a quarantine room for animals who need a bit of extra space.
We also hope to have a dedicated 'Meet & Greet' room for potential adopters to meet their new family member and get to know them away from the other animals, as well as a storage room for their food and treats!
Our vision for the new rescue centre is hugely exciting, and will ensure that we can carry on our important rehoming work for years to come. However, we desperately need donations towards the cost of building materials.
Will you help us #RebuildOurRescue?
Absolutely every penny counts. We’re committed to helping as many dogs as possible to find their forever homes, but we need your help to do so. The deadline for losing our existing location is absolutely imminent.
