Cara

Cara – 2 years old (DOB 28/03/19)
Size - Approx 21 inches floor to shoulder
Dogs – Can be homed as an only dog or with a playful companion dog
Cats - No cats
Children – Older teenage, dog respectful children
Dogs - Cara gets on well with the other dogs at Holbrook but can sometimes become overexcited when she’s in the mix of any activity. We feel that Cara can be homed with a confident companion dog but could also be happy as an only dog providing she has the opportunity to socialize with other dogs on a regular basis * See additional information *
Cats - No cats – Cara will chase them
Children- Cara has a lovely nature however she is very bouncy and lively, she can be a little pushy around food therefore we recommend older teenage, dog respectful children.
Personality- Cara is a very lively energetic dog that loves to run and play! She knows her basic commands but will need continued training. Cara has a lovely nature and enjoys interacting with all the volunteers at Holbrook however Cara can also quickly become over-exited and at that point she shows little self-control, she is not aggressive however she can become very pushy with some of the other dogs. Cara has a high energy level and loves to run but doesn’t find it so easy to relax; she needs mental as well as physical stimulation to help her burn off some energy but also to be able to relax.
Cara loves attention and will happily cuddle up with you but only once she has had her fill of running and games. Cara is a very smart dog that knows what she wants, she is strong willed and confident in her surroundings but she needs a job to do to keep her mind occupied and would benefit from a full training program and/or agility.

Suitable home - Cara will need someone home most of the time to help her settle. We will be looking for a home with an active family that enjoys the outdoor life. Cara’s level of energy is high; she is not a dog that would cope with a couple of short lead walks a day. Cara’s requires a home that has room for her to run and a family that spends much of their time outdoors.
Cara is an intelligent dog that will push her boundaries if training and guidance is not kept in place. She responds well to clear commands and will make an ideal companion for someone with experience in training dogs with lots of energy and with the ability to take her training to the next level. To meet all of Cara’s needs we will be looking for a home that can offer Cara the mental as well as physical exercise that she requires. Please use your application form to tell us how you would meet Cara’s physical and mental requirements.
*Additional information * Cara has happily lived in a home environment but sadly did not get along with the older female dog in the home and the sad decision was made to rehome Cara which was in the best interest of both dogs.
Cara joins the group walk each day however she will need continued training in lead walking, her recall is good but she is distracted easily, this too will need addressing.
If you feel you can give Cara the home she is looking for please complete the application form below. Please use this form to detail why you feel you could offer Cara the perfect home.
