Dogs – April gets on very well with the other dogs at Holbrook, she can always be found in the mix of things. She loves to run, to chase and to play, and enjoys nothing more than a game of tag with Flo who is also up for adoption and Monkey who lives in sanctuary at Holbrook. We would like April to be homed with a young playful companion dog to learn from and bond with. Although April and Flo are not reliant on one another they get on very well and would be happy to be homed together.

Cats – April has not been cat tested therefore we do not know how she would be living with a cat

Children – April has a lovely, lively, playful nature about her but we do not know her history with children therefore we will consider apps with older, dog respectful children and each app will be viewed independently.

Personality – Fun, lively and loving describes April well. She is a busy little dog that likes to know what is going on around her and equally likes to join in any activities. April adapted well to life at Holbrook, she took a little time to adjust and figure us all out but before we knew it she was seeking attention and making friends with the volunteers and all the other dogs. April is not a couch potato dog, she has a relatively high level of energy and is on the go constantly during the morning sessions. April interacts well with her handler when training but does tend to lose focus momentarily while she feels the need to check out what the other dogs are doing. She takes treats nicely and loves attention, April is a real fun little dog that will bring lots of laughter and love to any home.

Suitable home – April will need someone home much of the time to help her settle. We will be looking for a home with a young, playful companion and we will consider her being homed with Flo if the right family apply. April is not a dog that will suit a couple of short lead walks a day, she is an explorer and loves to be busy therefore she would suit a family that love the outdoors and who will include April in their daily adventures.

Additional Information
April has recently joined the group walk, she walks relatively well on lead but this will need continued training. April has not been off lead and will need to be taught recall in her new home. Aprils new family will need to introduce her slowly to the big world, which we know she will love to explore. She will need continued training in her new home to help her become the very best that she can.
